About this service
Our team of doctors and nurses provide Sexual Health Services across Blackpool and Lancashire. They deal with a variety of sexual health related conditions, providing testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), including HIV, in line with national guidelines.
All testing and treatment is free and confidential (see our confidentiality statement). Anybody can attend our service, we offer appointments and drop in clinics (Find your nearest clinic to book). West Lancashire Sexual Health Service – Hants Lane, Ormskirk
From the 14th December our service at Hants Lane, Ormskirk is temporarily relocating to Ashurst Health Centre, Lulworth, Skelmersdale, WN8 6QS.
This is due to Hants Lane Clinic being used for Covid Vaccinations.
Due to COVID-19 all our appointments are currently conducted by telephone.
During times of lockdown, we are reducing the number of people seen in our clinics. You will only be invited to attend a face to face appointment if no other alternatives are suitable for your care.

There has never been a better time to get tested for sexually transmitted infections, in helping to ‘break the chain’ of transmission.
If everyone got tested during this time, infections could be lowered, and the impact on NHS services reduced.

If you need advice on Emergency Contraception, Sexual Health or Contraception please contact the service on 0300 1234 154. If you choose to go to a Lancashire pharmacy, we advise you call them first to check a pharmacist is on duty who can issue Emergency Contraception for free. (see pharmacy list for phone numbers). Our Sexual Health Services are available for everyone and offer a range of services. We cover a wide geographic area and provide care to young people and adults. Often there can be barriers to accessing Sexual healthcare such as language issues, fear of being judged, anxiety around confidentiality and a perceived stigma.
